A great adventure we had whilst we were at the Rocky Mountains!

We have chosen to take the Class 4 white water rapids which is an exhilirating ride from the top of the 'Kicking Horse River down to 'Lake Louise''. This was a 5 hours journey so we started our day at 7:30AM and brought to the River Base wherein we suited up with all the gears.  After we have all our gears, we started with the safety lessons and important instructions...in case we fall into the water!  The whole ride in the river last up to 3 hours and ended up with a nice lunch back up in the base camp. The river was at it's best condition as it rained the night before and glaciers have started to melt! Just imagine the strenght of the rapids with this condition.   We even got the chance to have a dip in the very very very cold water! Grrrrrr!!!!!!!!

Time to start the ride!

See the clouds behind? That's how high up we were in the mountains! Well, kicked off our day with a light meal and a few drinks to keep ourselves calm! Ahhh.. not alcoholic drinks though...too much risks in the water already let alone go intoxicated!!! Maybe, afterwards...heheheh

This pic is with Tita Mae and one of the wild water guides.

A few more pictures before taking the plunge!

Tita Mae..how many drinks have you had??? Sure there's no alcohol in it? Happy smiles with Tita Mae and Aileen

Guess.. everybody's excited...wonder if everybody's hearts are pounding right now? hmmmmmmmm

We're on the third raft!

We were last to set off, going slowly as we were not paddling...busy taking pictures first!

Before we go to Class 2 rapids!

This is a 'Riken' self-bailing rafts which comfortably carry 8 people plus the guide. Two people are paddling in front and another two at the back while the guide holds the large oars to steer the raft. Easy job for Jeannette and Aileen as they only need to hold tight on the safety lines while I and  Tita Mae paddles on.

~ ~ ~ Serenading my love down the river ~ ~ ~

Just went through a Class 3 rapids and it was so exciting and got tired as well by paddling hard. Look at my face.... Jeannette is smiling because she didn't paddle at all whilst I did most of the paddling on our part. Whew!

River is so cold and we are all wet all over.. even with a wetsuit on and a fleece jacket and covered by a water proof jacket, it's so cold!  The waves were so huge that it splashed on us quite hard and soaked us inside our wetsuits!

Class 4 rapids!

Success!!!! just went through the 'Roller Coaster' which is the most huge part of the ride... and we almost got our raft turned upside down!!!

Kudos for our fantastic guide for handling the raft so well that we managed to avoid turning upside down or get thrown in the water!

We're still in a class 3 water!

We're not through clear waters yet... I wonder why we celebrated and stopped paddling when there's still rough water ahead of us!

Just hit a huge rock!!! Hold on!!!

Look at our guide's face when he shouted what has happened! Guess we were still so elated surpassing the Class 4 rapids that we focused on enjoying ourselves, taking a picture moment and ignored the still long way ahead.

Sorry dude! Your on your own this moment!!! hehehehhe

We definitely do this again next time!!!!
